Are mushrooms growing in the lawn good or bad?
Like a lot of people, when we see something growing on our lawn, like mushrooms, we often associate it with that something is wrong.
However, this is not often the case when it comes to mushrooms.
Mushrooms growing in a lawn are a good indicator of thriving soil biology, functional soil organic levels and a well-balanced fungal to bacterial ratio. These factors all contribute to the fruiting stage of these fungal life cycles.
The fungi that produce the mushrooms are present in the soil even if you can’t see the mushrooms, because fungi exist as a mycelium throughout the soil. The fact that the mycelium is able to switch to reproductive growth and produce a mushroom is a great sign that the soil environment is supporting a thriving soil microbial community in the soil, which is conducive to healthy plant growth.
Ecogrowth’s range of products, including liquid biostimulants and rock mineral granular fertiliser coated with EcoAdvance® premium biology,, are specifically designed to enhance and support healthy soil ecosystems. Ecogrowth products not only provide essential nutrients but also help create an optimal environment for plant growth by promoting functional soil biology. The common sight of mushrooms popping up after in areas where our products have been applied is a clear indication that soil biology and health have improved. An improvement in soil biology is directly linked to enhanced plant growth and overall plant health.
