HELP FIGHT THE HUNGER IN AUSTRALIA

We’re proud to be partnering with Foodbank to help fight hunger in Australia.

We have funded well over 100,000 meals in the last four years.

Did you know that 3.4 million Australian households (32%) experienced some form of food insecurity at a point in the past 12 months? This means that they have, at the very least, reduced the quality, variety or desirability of their food and, at worst, run out of food so that household members go entire days without eating. 

One in five median income households (earning >$95K per year) are food insecure. 

Food insecurity is being felt more acutely in the regions (37%) compared to metropolitan areas (30%). A year ago, the rates were the same but now metro areas have improved slightly, while regional areas have fallen behind.

Foodbank provides essential food and groceries to more than 1 million Australians every month – they believe that everyone should have access to good food. In 2024, Foodbank sourced 51 million kilos of food and groceries, the equivalent of 92 million meals, from farmers, manufacturers and retailers to make it available to individuals and families in need. This food is distributed through a network of over 2,929 frontline charities nationally, as well as through Foodbank hubs in some states. Foodbank also helps children by providing food for school breakfast clubs to 3,220 primary and high schools, as well as lunch programs in some states.  

Since 2021, Ecogrowth have partnered with Foodbank Australia and with every sale of our 20kg Purple^® or Emerald^® fertiliser bags, we donate one meal to help Australians in need. Support goes towards Foodbank’s Banana Program, where funding is invested in the collecting, freight and storage of excess bananas from Far North Queensland and transported to Foodbank warehouses across the country. Through our financial contribution, we help ensure Foodbank always has an available supply of this healthy, convenient and nutritious fruit to redistribute as food relief.
